Why We Like It
Because you can grow your own chillis - including one of the hottest varieties in the world!

Summary
It is the ultimate combination of green fingers and a red hot mouth! This grow-your-own chilli set is the perfect gift either for someone who loves gardening, hot food, or both. As easy to grow as tomatoes, these chillis are something a little different. Included are seeds that allow you to grow 5 different kinds of chilli ranging from the milder jalapeno, to the legendarily hot tepin chilli.

This set comes with everything you need to grow your own chilli peppers in your own home (or garden, weather permitting), including pots, compost and a handy guide for the less garden-savvy.

Manufacturer’s Description
This gift box enables you to grow five different types of chilli plants, including one of the world’s hottest varieties, in your own home. Chillis can be grown as ornamental decorative plants, and for their fruits, which can then be harvested when green, for some cuisines.

You can also leave them to ripen, mainly to red but some will turn orange, yellow or even chocolate brown depending on variety, this usually takes about another 2 to 3 weeks. Chillis will grow in similar conditions to tomatoes, however better results are achieved in higher temperatures and humidity.

A better crop will be achieved by growing under glass, although they can be cultivated outdoors in sheltered sites with plenty of sun. Plan to grow your plants to give them a long season to ensure ripe fruits before autumn. Sow in early Spring with a heated propagator, transplanting when all signs of the last frost has gone. Alternatively grow them on the kitchen window, and then move to the garden when the better weather arrives.
